In line with the recent Apple event, Apple has today released their latest iteration of iOS, version 14.5. This release promises several notable updates, including unlock iPhone with Apple Watch, more diverse Siri voice options and new privacy controls.
Watch the below overview from our friends at AppleInsider, or read on for all the details.
It's the significant new privacy controls that are causing the most controversy, severely limiting the way apps like Facebook and Google can track and target your activity. Whilst these companies have until now enjoyed freedom to capture and target advertising based on your personal data, you'll now have to actively allow apps to track your activity.
Some additional updates you'll notice within iOS 14.5 are:
New Emoji
Report an incident in Apple Maps
Redesigned Apple Podcasts
AirTag support
Apple News redesign
Apple Fitness+ updates
Reminders with sort functionality
5G improvements
Voice control for accessibility
