Sisyphus Must Be Happy
Take a second look. This product is much more than a regular piece of furniture. It’s a kinetic sand table that heals your soul. Meet Sisyphus, the kinetic art table. Sisyphus hails from Greek mythology, and he was condemned to roll a boulder up a mountain forever. Like Sisyphus, the metal balls move through the table’s sand and seem to forever roll and create patterns, just like the Greek myth.
Artist, Bruce Shapiro, designed these tables so people could enjoy them not only as furniture but as art. He sees them almost as you would a musical instrument. The Sisyphus tables are relaxing for the mind and beautiful for the home.
Meet the Kraft Paper Coffee Cup
CUP.FEE is the answer to a worldwide problem – saving the environment. It’s a huge step in the green movement as the designers hope this cup can reduce the impact and environmental footprint of disposable coffee cups. The CUP.FEE is made from recycled Kraft paper, and all you have to do is add water. Just think about all those disposable coffee cups that end up in the trash. For people who don’t use refillable cups, CUP.FEE is the answer. Users can add water, drink their coffee and then recycle the eco-paper cup. It’s billed as the “cup for people who can’t carry their own cups.”
Snapchat’s Wearable Technology
Due out this fall, Snapchat’s Spectacles are connected sunglasses and record video snippets that are then saved to your Snapchat Memories. Spectacles use a 115-degree angle lens built into the glasses. This is said to mimic the natural view of your eyes. Plus, the whole system is hands-free, and the clips are circular which again mimics human vision. The glasses are rumored to list at $130, come in one size and three colors: coral, teal and black. All you have to do is tap the button on the top left-hand corner to begin recording. It stops on its own after 10 seconds, but you can tap again up to 30 seconds. What does remain to be seen is if anyone will wear them…
